Private yoga therapy offers personalized, trauma-informed support for your body, nervous system, and mind. Sessions integrate gentle somatic movement, restorative meditation, education on the mind/body connection, interoception (awareness of inner sensations), breathwork, and yoga philosophy in ways intended to support you meet your wellness goals.
First Sessions
Session One: Gentle conversation and collaboration
In our first session, we’ll spend time simply getting to know each other. We’ll review your intake form together and talk about what you’d like support with — whether that’s stress, pain, recovery, focus, or something else. You’re always welcome to share only what feels comfortable for you. This first meeting is about creating a safe, supportive space and setting the foundation for our work together. Private yoga therapy is a collaborative process — it meets you where you are and evolves with you over time.
Session Two and beyond: Personalized practices at your pace
Starting in the second session, we begin weaving in practices that can support your body and nervous system. These might include gentle movement, breathwork, restorative meditation, or guided interoception (awareness of inner sensations). The goal is to reduce stress, ease pain, and strengthen resilience — while giving you practical tools to carry into daily life. Each session is adaptive, so if something doesn’t feel right in the moment, we pivot together.
Somatic yoga therapy works best when it honors your unique needs. Some days may call for calming and rest, while others may invite movement or reflection. No matter what, the pace and direction are guided by you, with the aim of helping you feel more grounded, empowered, and connected.

While a yoga teacher's basic training program requires only 200 hours of training, sometimes completed in a few weeks, yoga therapists undergo a rigorous, multi-year program accredited by the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT.org). This program entails at least 1,000 hours of training focused on adapting and applying somatic yoga techniques to address specific medical conditions. Through this in-depth curriculum, yoga therapists gain a comprehensive understanding of various health issues, contraindications, and relevant research. Additionally, they participate in year long mentored clinical practicum working 1:1 with clients before becoming eligible to apply for certification.
